We sincerely hope that you to love the quality of our finely sourced tea and tisane products. Many of our teas are loose hand blended teas but some products may be sold in pre-made bags.
True tea leaves are derived from the Camelia sinensis bush. We have many offerings of white, green, oolong, black, and even premium pu-erh teas. In addition to standard stand-alone versions of those offerings we offer many of those varieties infused with herbs and fruit. The flavor possibilities with tea are endless.
Tisanes are dried herbal preparations. They can be composed of single herbs but are usually a combination specially chosen fruit and herbs.
True teas from the Camelia bush or tree in some cases can generally be prepared using the following method:
Standard Brewing Instructions: Bring to a rolling boil 7-9 oz OR (210-270mL) of (freshly drawn*) water to 212ºF/(100ºC)**, remove from heat and pour over 1 heaping tsp or slightly more of loose tea and steep for a minimum 3 minutes (mild) to 5 minutes (strong), based upon flavor preference. After desired steep time lease remover tea from the water to avoid over steeping, which can lead to bitter tasting tea.
*Municipal water system can have high amounts of minerals, which can affect the taste of your tea. For best results try using bottles
**Steeping temperature is crucial and if possible you should aim for water between 204-206ºF/96-98ºC for Oolong teas. For white, green and black teas you should aim for a steep temperature of 176-185ºF/80-85ºC.
